ABOUT GREATER GRACE
History of Greater Grace Missionary Baptist Church
Greater Grace Missionary Baptist Church was originally started in February 2006, in Birmingham, Alabama, as a vision of Pastor Carlos Williams and the prayers of several fellow believers. During the infancy of the fellowship, Pastor Williams and the congregation met regularly for prayer and worship located at Highlands School in the Mountain Brook area. The church also transitioned to other locations as well for fellowship, but not for long.
In May of 2007, God blessed the congregation to purchase our current church facility at 309 20th Avenue NE in Center Point.
After four years of awesome leadership and increase financially and in membership, Pastor Williams resigned and Interim Pastor Henry Williams assisted the congregation during the search for a new pastor. In March of 2011, that process ended and Reverend Derwin Perry was selected as pastor. He served for three years preaching the Word of God to a dedicated flock until his resignation.
In June of 2019, after careful prayer and consideration, the next pastor to serve for Greater Grace is Pastor Lawrence Jackson, Sr. He brings to us over 25 years of pastoral leadership. We look forward to the new and innovative ideas that our pastor has to offer!
